Florals, Greenery, Epic Views, and Water
All of these things were present during this beautiful senior session. My client started with a yellow sun dress and cowboy boots. I love the sunflowers on them! We found lots of spots that complimented the floral pattern on her dress. There's also a little spot that I've been wanting to use during a session at Epic for quite some time. It features an ornate white table and chairs, and gives some serious Alice in Wonderland vibes. My client loved it too!
Another standout spot was when my senior sat nestled into a great big bush with magenta flowers. I love the contrast between the colors of the flowers against her bright yellow dress.
A blue dress to match the waterfall
One of the things I always say about doing photoshoots at Epic is that it's always different! During my inital walkthrough of the campus that day, I already knew this session would be different from my other senior photoshoots there. So many different types of flowers were blooming and in different spots than they had been the last time I was there. But one of the things this senior told me when she arrived was that she was hoping for some pictures by the waterfall. Even though I have done many sessions there before, I didn't even know that Epic had a waterfall! As we ventured on over to it, we stopped along the way to take pictures in some more gorgeous spots. I loved how the light was shining through these bridges right as we were walking through!
We knew we were nearing the waterfall because we could start to hear its roar. I was excited to see it, since I never had before. Everything in the area was beautiful, however. I was particularly amazed by the sweeping views of fields and trees that we could see when we were standing above the waterfall. The sunset was turning everything gold. This senior specifically liked previous images in my portfolio that were taken during golden hour, so I knew we were hitting that sweet spot and would get some great portraits that she would love.
We took our time making a lap around the pond. There were so many features we were able to interact with to get some great photos. There was obviously the waterfall, but we also used steps, a boardwalk, the buildings, and a planter to take some unique senior photos. We were able to get many different poses. I love getting as much variety for my senior galleries as possible, so we did some standing, sitting, leaning, walking, and twirling.
I can't wait to see what Epic will have in store for me next time!
Overall, this was one of my favorite sessions at Epic to date! I love exploring and discovering new places. I know that there is still so much for me to see there and to experience during all seasons. I look forward to trying new ideas around the waterfall with clients in the future.
