Why We Chose Epic
When planning for this photoshoot, my client requested wildflowers. She sent me some dreamy photos as inspiration that screamed cottagecore to me. While Madison, WI has lots of beautiful parks and fields to choose from, we ultimately decided on Epic because of its large choice of scenic spots and beautifully manicured lawns. It doesn't matter how many times I've been there, each time I find something new.
Just a few weeks prior to this, the flowers that were in bloom were in a completely different area. That meant that even though I just did a senior session here, these ones felt completely new and unique to this client. We loved how the golden hour light was streaming through the wildflowers, and we loved these giant pink flowers (I don't even know what they're called) looked with her pink dress.
Part of this senior's time in high school was spent in the band playing flute. I was so excited that she even brought her flute with to capture a few shots. She played a few notes, and it looked so magical that I wouldn't have been surprised if a blue bird landed on her shoulder and a deer popped out from the woods.
Next up was an outfit change, and a stroll around a pond. The light was really starting to hit just right, and I loved how the sun glowed on her hair. One great thing about outfit changes is that it really adds some variety to your final gallery. I love how the white dress looks against the birch tree.
Wait... I thought we were in Wisconsin?
Yup! One of the amazing things about Epic is all the different themed areas. My client was super inspired by this western area as we were walking by, so we had to grab a couple shots there. She said she had done some traveling in Arizona earlier this year, and was happy to get some pictures that would look like she was back there.
Is this still Epic?
Yes! This is still Epic! And this is only a FRACTION of their campus. My client was feeling really inspired by this tunnel, the rocks, and all the ivy growing on the wall. I love when my clients let me know what inspires them, because then we can create pictures that we both love! The sun was barely above the horizon, but we managed to sneak a few more pics before it was too dark. The light looked magical at this point.
This is probably one of my most dynamic senior photo sessions to date, and I couldn't be happier. It is all the more reason why I will keep photographing seniors there. Each time there's something new to find, and my seniors are always inspired by different things.
